Reader's Letter on Hate in Poorhouse Records

7/31/03

To Whom it may concern,
recently my friends and I came across a Hip Hop website that used negative nomenclatures when depicting Asian Americans. All of my friends and I were disturbed by these comments and hostilities, we took it upon ourselves to write messages on the website's guest book and email the editor of this record labels website. Some of us politely ask them to publicly apologize and remove the article, the responses we got from the record label were filled with more name calling and ignorant behavior towards Asian Americans.  I am a 19 year old Filipino male, and  I am writing this email to stop this record label from teaching people to hate Asian Americans. The record label is Poorhouse Records, to view the article go  to the news page on the website www.poorhouserecords.com . Below is an email I sent to the editor of Poorhouse Records, it also contains the reply I got back from this r! ecord label. Thank you for taking time to read this email, I hope you can help us put a stop to this behavior.
