Katrina: A Military Operation Against U.S. Citizens?

The California Nurses Association and other "first responder" groups and individuals, have been charged with being "irresponsible" for sending nurses and other trained personell without coordinating with the authorities. This list of reports should help illustrate why we went around the Bush administration, FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), and the Red Cross.

The Siege of New Orleans The administration intentionally withheld desperately needed aid to the city to force Governor Kathleen Blanco into surrendering control of the National Guard and local police to federal authority. The goal was to dismantle regional defenses and militarize a major port city; an ambition that persists to this day. The Katrina disaster provided the cover for the Pentagon to launch military operations against US citizens for the first time in modern history.
