APA Leaders Oppose Alito: Sign-on Letter

Since President Bush nominated Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court, Asian Pacific American leaders have issued a letter of their opposition. To sign on to the letter, please visit this website organized by the Asian Law Caucus.

The Congressional hearings on Alito's nomination are expected to begin January 9, 2006. Alito has embraced a gravely conservative judicial philosophy, and the APA letter cites detrimental implications for immigrant and refugee rights; the enforment of anti-discrimination laws; hate crime legislation; workers rights and protections; civil liberties; voting rights; and violence against women.
