Kazu Iijima Memorial

Kazu Iijima passed away last August at the age of 89. She was part of an active Nisei cohort that included Yuri Kochiyama. Within the Asian Movement, she help found Asian Americans for Action, an anti-Vietnam War and anti-imperialist group. and the Asian Communities Center in New York. She continued her activism with groups like CAAAV and the David Wong support committee.

A warm and generous person, she is sorely missed. A coalition of groups will be holding a memorial in Los Angeles to honor her life. The event will be held on January 12 3PM at the Centernary United Methodist Church.
